School Swimming Lessons

Weeks 5 & 6 – Monday 9 – Friday 20 November

Starting this coming Monday, our students from pre-primary to year six will commence swimming lessons at AQUALIFE – VIC PARK for two weeks.

Children will depart school daily under the supervision of staff, at 1.10pm and return at 3.00pm

(lesson each day at 1.40-2:20pm)

Please Note – NO Early Close for Thursday 12th & 19th November

 Children will need to bring:

  • Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Rashee/tshirt
  • Goggles (optional)
  • Long hair should be tied up
  • Plastic bag for wet gear & a change of underwear

Please ensure your child’s name is on all items.

Students will change into their bathers at school during lunchtime and return to school in swim clothes.

For safety reasons students are to continue to wear suitable footwear whilst at school but are permitted to wear thongs to and from swimming lessons only.

If you are considering picking your child up from the pool, please let the Teacher-in-Charge know before leaving. However, we will be unable to wait for you to pick up from  the pool if running late as this will impact on arrival back to school for all parents. Please remember to rinse out your bathers and towel each night.

Zoo Excursion Kindy – Year 2

Our Kindy – Year 2 students visited the Zoo on Tuesday and had a great time. We have heard some amazing stories about animals they saw and interesting facts that they learnt about the animals.

Follow this link to our new online photo gallery to see some photos and work from some of the children.

Year 6 Camp

Our year 6 students had a terrific time on camp and I am sure will have made some very special memories. See some of what they got up to while on camp by clicking here

2020 City of Bayswater Art Awards

Congratulations to our four amazing artists who were finalists in the 2020 City of Bayswater Art Awards. An extra cheer for Adelaide who won the Primary School Award with her piece “Beautiful Country”.

You can see their beautiful work and that of many other artists on display at The Rise, in Maylands, until November 14.

Containers for Change Barcode

Containers for Change is off to a good start with nearly four bins filled. Please keep all your donations coming. If you wish to take your cans or bottles directly to a donation drop off station, and would like the funds to go to our school, please take a photo of the below barcode as it will need to be scanned during the donation process.

From your P&C

We had a productive meeting during the week and it was great to have some new members join us with new skills and ideas to compliment those from our existing members.

The Harmony Garden is growing well, with additional plantings added over the last month. Thank you to everyone who completed our survey, we have incorporated your feedback into these plantings.

A number of small trees have also been planted as part of the Harmony Garden project – you can give them an encouraging word as you walk past the garden bed at the end of the Groundbreakers room! We can’t wait for everyone to share in our first harvest.

We have a few small projects planned for this term and are looking forward to helping organise our End of Year Celebration night and sharing the evening with our whole school community.
