End of Term 1 Message from the Principal
Even though it has been a short term, it has been busy and jam packed and our little ones will be looking forward to a rest. To all our students and families enjoy the holidays as we have an extra long term coming up, being 11 weeks.
Thankyou to all our new staff, Ms Vogwill, Mr Smith, Ms Hurst, Ms Stephenson and Ms Summer, for your commitment and flexibility. It has been a delight to work with a large new group of people who have fitted in so well.
We will welcome our new Deputy Principal Mr Pieter Van Der Muelen next term who will be working Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Mrs Kalajzic will be continuing many of the roles she currently undertakes and will support Pieter in his role as Deputy. Mr Van Der Muelen will also be taking music across the school, and will be overseeing technology and related curriculum areas, as he has a very strong background in IT.
I certainly can’t thank Robyn enough for everything she has done over the past couple of years as acting deputy. Her dedication to our little school is amazing. Over the years Robyn has taken over the deputy role more often than not, and her knowledge and understanding of Curtin Primary School is amazing.
Yesterday, we also had a very sad farewell to Gail Cook, who is retiring. Gail’s commitment and dedication to our school and students has been invaluable over the past 20 years and will be she will be greatly missed. We wish her well in her next chapter!
However, she has kindly agreed to come back next term as the Kindy Education Assistant, until we find a suitable replacement!
Have a great holiday everyone, and stay safe.

Our year 5/6 students have been selling raffle tickets before and after school to raise money for their camp later in the year. Congratulations to the lucky winners and thank you to everyone you helped out, donated goods and bought tickets. Our students raised $300.
Here are some photos of our Room 13 students wearing their beautiful Easter hats.

Earth Day Excursion to Canning River Eco Education Centre

Students participated in activities like Rubbish Relay, how to measure on toy animals and they built environmentally friendly towns using recycled materials.
Interschool Cricket
Last Friday Curtin Primary School sent two teams to participate in the Woolworth Blast Cup held at Manning Primary. Some were nervous as this was their first interschool carnival but quickly everyone settled into the game.

All players are to be congratulated on their efforts and sportsmanship over the day.
Big thanks goes to Mrs Muller for her assistance on the day.
