Student update forms

At the beginning of term students were sent home with student update forms (printed on pink sheets of paper). Please return these to school as soon as possible with any updates noted or signed as current and correct.

Classroom meetings

As our teachers are unable to carry out parent classroom meetings scheduled for week 3, they will be contacting their parents to advise how they will be forwarding 2022 classroom information.

Edudance

Edudance classes have now commenced and will continue throughout the term.

Year 5/6 Camp Fundraiser – Icy poles

Year 5/6 students will continue to sell icy poles in the undercover area at lunchtime following assigned lunch eating time.

Icy poles are $1 each.

Kindy and Pre-primary students – Year 5/6 students will visit  each day to collect their money and orders and will deliver icy poles to their classroom later in the day.

Crunch & Sip

The Crunch & Sip program is an initiative to encourage healthy eating practices. Please send your children to school with an extra serve of vegetables or fruit to eat in the classroom in addition to those that you include in their lunchboxes. Check out the flyer for a few ideas and the dos and don’ts of Crunch & Sip.

Healthy lunchboxes

If you are looking for some inspiration for your children’s lunchboxes take a look at the Crunch and Sip website – https://www.crunchandsip.com.au/healthy-lunchboxes There are plenty of ideas and recipes to choose from. Why not start next week’s lunchbox adventures with some bread sushi?

Ingredients

  • 1/2 carrot, grated
  • 4 leaves lettuce
  • 1 tbs low-fat mayonnaise
  • 4 slices wholemeal or multigrain bread
  • 1 125 g can tuna in spring water, drained

Method

  1. Mix the tuna and mayonnaise.
  2. Cut the crusts from the bread and gently roll with a rolling pin to flatten.
  3. Leaving a 1cm gap at the edge top each slice evenly with a lettuce leaf grated carrot and then the tuna. Roll up firmly and slice into three Sushi rounds.

Tip
Add avocado for a creamy alternative and thin cucumber strips for crunch.

Please make sure when making electronic payments to the school you include your child’s name as the reference. Without this we cannot track or allocated payments.

Absentees

Notes have been sent home to follow up on any unauthorised absences, these need to be returned signed as soon as possible. Student absences can be entered via the website http://www.curtinps.wa.edu.au/absence/, by emailing Curtin.PS@education.wa.edu.au or by calling the office on 6455 8050.

Uniforms 

Uniform Shop is open Wednesday mornings before school and Thursday afternoons after school.  If you require items outside these times please call the school on 6455 8050 or email curtin.ps@education.wa.edu.au  to arrange.

CONNECT

Parents / Guardians need to have access to Connect to receive school communications from the Principal, classroom teacher and office. Containers for Change

Collection bins are located outside of the early childhood area. Please remember to remove lids from containers (and recycle separately). There are two bins, one for glass only and the other for cans (please don’t crush) and plastic bottles. We appreciate your support.
