Camp Quality visit

Our students from K-6 were lucky to view the amazing Camp Quality Puppet show on Tuesday.  The show used puppetry to gently address the concerns some families may face when dealing with cancer and ways we can all help to assist them.
A big thank you to our students who helped raise $114 for Camp Quality.

Sporting clinics

Term 4 will be an exciting term that will see a number of different sporting clinics visit Curtin Primary School exposing our students to a variety of sporting opportunities found within our community. These clinics will include Australian rules football, rugby league, touch rugby, basketball and golf.

Earth Day Expo excursion

Our students in years 2-4 will be participating in the Earth Day Expo on Friday 14 October. This event is coordinated by Canning River Eco Education Centre (CREEC) and the Australian Association for Environmental Education (AAEE-WA) to celebrate this international event that is recognised by more than 150 countries around the world.

The Earth Day Expo is a whole day excursion filled with fun, interactive activities that empower young people to think creatively and critically about how to generate sustainable change.

Thank you to the students who have returned permission slips and payment. A reminder to others who still need to provide permission slip and payment that this must be in no later than Wednesday 12 October.

Interm swimming lessons

All students from pre-primary to year six participate in swimming during Weeks 9 & 10 commencing Monday 5 December and finishing Wednesday 14 December.

The 8 daily swimming lessons are provided by the Department of Education and Training and are held at AQUALIFE – VIC PARK.

As this is a school Physical Education session it is expected that all students will be attending these lessons. We would appreciate notification to the Principal if there is a medical or cultural reason for withdrawing your child/ren.

Please check your child’s bag as these forms were issued earlier in the week.

Weekly Payment Plans are available now with final payment due by Friday 18 November.

P&C Book sale and nature play afternoon

It was lovely to see families stay and play last Wednesday afternoon. Our students love of reading was also on show with many books going to new homes and over $300 raised – thank you to everyone who supported this initiative and helped to keep spreading the joy of reading.

Our P&C continue to work collaboratively with Curtin Primary School to make improvements  and it is rewarding to see them being enjoyed. Projects over the last few years have included the installation of the nature playground, installation and planting of the Harmony Garden, resurfacing of the (now blue) sports courts and repainting of the school. In addition Mr & Mrs Kalajzic have worked tirelessly to improve our school grounds and implement additional projects in this time. A massive thank you to everyone that has been involved, I am sure you will all agree that our school grounds are looking better than ever.
